An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Forensic Collision Investigator to join a highly motivated team based in Surrey. The role will involve conducting detailed analyses of collisions and other road traffic related matters for both the Criminal and Civil sector.

Role

To provide an investigative lead to clients and deliver Expert services, including the production of expert reports, to the highest standards. 

FCIR currently operate a hybrid working policy.

 

The applicant will be required to:

  • Provide Expert Collision Investigation Reports to clients
  • Comply fully with the entire Criminal/Civil process for the provision of Expert services
  • Work autonomously in that function, managing both time and calendar
  • Attend the locus of collisions (or similar) at times of relevance to the incident (e.g. late at night/early in the morning).
  • Peer Review other Expert’s work if required
  • Perform administrative functions in the day-to-day running of the company
  • Comply with GDPR requirements where required
  • Maintain CPD
  • Contribute to the expansion of the client base
  • Communicate clear messages to members of FCIR
  • Be a role model of positive, inspirational and highly visible technical ability.
  • Maintain an exemplary level of service to FCIR
  • Maintain and promote the values of FCIR at all times

Qualifications, Accreditations and Education

Essential/Desired

Hold a full clean driving licence for Cat B vehicles, E

Hold a full clean driving licence for Cat A, C, D and C+E vehicles, D

Hold an Emergency Service blue light driving qualification, D

Hold a Degree (or higher) or Equivalent level of theoretical knowledge, E

Hold qualifications in the examination of motor vehicles of all types, E

Hold qualifications in Collision Investigation, E

Hold Qualifications in teaching or related field, D

Experience

 Have at least 5 years’ experience in investigating collisions, E

Have published papers in a related field, D

Have extensive experience of the Court process, E

Have extensive experience in writing expert reports, E

Have extensive experience in proving live evidence to a Court, E

Have extensive experience in both Criminal and Civil forums, D

Applicants will be required to provide an up-to-date CV and CPD record at the point of expressing an interest. Thereafter, the process will consist of 3 stages:

Stage 1:    The submission of 2 historic example collision investigation reports completed by the applicant, with associated exhibits (redacted as appropriate).  This is intended for the applicant to demonstrate their current level of work.

Stage 2:    Successful applicants at Stage 1 will be invited to undertake an independent analysis of some sanitised disclosure and conduct a reconstruction of the events of the collision, and present their findings in report form.

Stage 3:    Successful applicants at Stage 2 will be invited to attend a panel interview/assessment.
